Survival of a mental disorder person
People with mental health disorder are surviving every day through their daily struggles but we have rarely discussed it on any platforms. Starting from children to teenagers to adults to people of old age, one in every household we can find a person suffering from mental health issues if we think of doing a survey.
Earlier many people believe that mental disorder is a stigma and it cannot be talked about publicly. Even in the society in which I am living today, I can still see people hesitate to talk about mental health problems and some even make fun of them such as mad, moron etc.
Not per se, everybody thinks mental health is a stigma, but what I have gone through in my life people take it quite casually. The most common advice I get from people is "chill"," everyone face this", "even I have anxiety".
The main reason behind this is maybe due to lack of communication and trust and the final option left for a person is to feel lonely and ultimately opt for suicide.Necessary steps are taken today for mental health and the school curriculum also includes how to deal with mental illness.
In the year 2018 UK appoints the first-ever minister in charge of tackling loneliness and combating social isolation.
According to research, more than 9 million people always or often feel lonely, around 200,000 older people have not had a conversation with a friend or relative in more than a month, and up to 85 per cent of young disabled adults? 18-34-year-olds feel lonely. (a statement is taken from the article written by Aditi Khanna).
This year Japan has also appointed Minister for Loneliness to check rising suicide cases in wake of coronavirus, as per reports. Japan has recorded more than 426,000 Covid-19 cases and 7,577 deaths, according to data from John Hopkins University and most of the cases involve suicidal cases.
