mysterious yet extremely beautiful places in India, this region is where you should head straight to.

Talking about the mode of transportation, to explore some of the the local places, cycling is most recommend mode of transport. With the passage of time people have been adapted to comfort and have forgotten the benefits of cycling. The world wide pandemic has impacted the youth both mentally and physically, people has started to reminiscence the forgotten cycling culture. Like many big cities across the nation, Assam has also witnessed a massive growth in the number of cycling enthusiast during the lock down period.

Many communities have also been formed to keep the spirit and Assam cycling community is quite prominent in this regard. Many other cycling clubs such as Dibrugarh cycling club, Jorhat cycling club, City cycling club, Guwahati cycling club etc are found to motivate the youth and promote cycling tourism. Kaushik Patgiri, a youth from Pathsala has travelled the many different parts of Assam on his cycle. He mentioned that cycling is not only his passion but it also motivates him to moves up in life. He motivated many people to come forward and enjoy cycling as it is like an adventure.

As Guwahati the heart of Assam saw a surge in numbers of cyclist, the state government to initiative to construct the first bicycle lane in Kahilupara to Dakshingaon area of Assam.

Many showrooms have been launched across the state as the demands for cycles have grown by four or five times. According to many owners post the pandemic the sale in stock has been six times more than the pre pandemic period sell.

For some, cycling is a way to regain their fitness but for many it is a passion. The benefit of cycling on health is quite mentionable. As most of the youths are homesick, cycling and exploring news places may help them refresh their minds. Going for rides in the early morning and also evening enjoying sunset and sunrise may help people avoid a stressful life. As also from the environmental point of view, cycling help to maintain a pollution free environment and it reduce the global warming factors.

The the tourism department of Assam should take some steps to promote a healthy cycling environment for the tourist. Government should arrange cycles in popular tourist spots and to organize different cycling tours to unexplored places. This would promote the rural tourism in Assam. Further lead to development of the rural areas.
