Journey to the land of smiles - Sawadee kha Thailand!

The year 2019 has been very kind to me. From meeting new people to travelling to places. I have many memories to cherish at the end of the year and for a lifetime. This year itself I undertook admission at Gauhati University and I was very lucky to travel to a lot of places and this includes my most memorable trip to the land of smiles - the beautiful Thailand. The journey began on 10th October 2019 from Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport. I along with my two sisters,my brother in law and two little nephew and niece, boarded the flight at around 1 am on the 10th of Oct 2019. We travelled by Nok air - the newly introduced direct flight from Guwahati to bangkok. It was a 2hr 50min journey. We reached Don Mueang International Airport Bangkok at around 6 am (Thailand timezone). At around 10 am we reached our hotel. We checked in our room got freshened up, had some hot breakfast and than took a quick nap as all of us were a bit sleepy.
At around noon we took our lunch at a nearby restaurant and went to the Ocean world at Siam Paragon mall. We were flabbergasted to witness 30000 rare and beautiful marine creatures  such as striped frogfish, garden eel, gigantic spider crabs, batfish, otters, sea horse to name a few, in front of our eyes. The other things that amazed us was the gigantic aquarium which is one of the largest aquarium in the world and the underwater tunnel. It was educational as well as memorable experience. The next day we went to the very famous safari world of Bangkok. It was a half day tour. We boarded the tour bus early in the morning. There we encountered many species of birds and animals from Asia to Africa and few other regions. The way through the park allowed us to observe the natural behavior and act of consuming food of wild animals like tiger lion etc. Inside the park we got the chance to watch many beautiful shows like elephant show, orangutan show, spy world dolphin show. We walked around the safari park to see the animals and birds. Feeding the birds was a must do experience for all of us including the kids. We even touched the giraffes with our barehand. Than we had our thai buffet lunch at a restaurant which was inside the safari world. Overall we had a very good experience at safari world.
The very next day we decided to go the Floating market and few local sightseeing like the temples etc. So according to our plan we booked a cab and set out for the days agenda. First we went to the floating market which was a rare sight because we do not see anything of that sort here in India. There are small shops selling snacks souvenirs neatly lined up along the canal and there are boats that took us through the canal and shops on both the sides. After that we went to see the train market where there are shops on the rail line and when a train passes by they pack the shops and it leaves opens again. Third we went to a very beautifully architectural temple called Wat Pho and in Thai language wat means temple. And since we all were a little exhausted with the travelling didn't see much and called it a day. The next day we checked out from the hotel (and went for shopping at the Chatuchak market which is a must do thing when in Bangkok) and headed to our next destination Pattaya as per our schedule. The road to Pattaya was very good with well maintained roads and high rise buildings.

We reached Pattaya at around 4 pm on the 13th of October. That day after checking in at the hotel we took a quick nap as usual we went to a beach which was less than half a kilometre from our hotel. We sat at the beach relaxed for a while and returned back to the hotel. On 14th of October i.e. next day we went to Jomtien beach on a pick up van it is a kind of vehicle which are called Baht Bus in Thailand. The beach was very huge and it was very beautiful with crystal clear water. There we spent some time in the beach playing in the water. The next day we went to coral island by speed boats which was a long journey from Pattaya.

It was a full day tour which was very happening and full of adventure as we did many water sports and other fun activities like para sailing, underwater sea walk, banana boat, snorkeling etc. It was a lifetime experience. And on 16th October i.e the last day at Pattaya (Bangkok) we wrapped our trip at Sriracha tiger park where we saw many tigers as well as tiger show elephant show and a unforgettable thing we did and which we could not miss in Thailand was a photo with a real tiger (the thought of which is giving me goosebumps right now). There we had a chance to get clicked photos with the tiger. And at around 4 pm we started for the airport. Our flight was at 11.30pm we reached Guwahati at  12.40 am (IST). And thus our trip came to an end. It was a fantastic experience and we are looking forward to many more trips like this whenever we get an opportunity.
