When Mortals Cause Mortality…

It is said that God dwells within children. Hurting a child is equivalent to hurting God. Depriving a child from the rights he ought to have is a sin against God. Then, killing a child is equivalent to killing a beautiful butterfly from the mesmerizing ‘Garden of God’. It is one of the greatest sins of its kind.

Inspite of the rapid progress in science, technology and other fields a picture that we see as of now is not one that can be appreciated. Discrimination against girl child and female foeticide are clear instances of this. There is one section of the society which is trying its level best to be liberal in their thoughts whereas there is another section of the society, in fact of large chunk of it, which is still in the clutches of orthodox views and thoughts.

They say… Love and Humanity is what keeps the world alive. When these two leaves the human heart men begins to die, and cause death. Have men become so insensitive, so inhuman that he can destroy the one within whom God dwells, just to avenge their grudge? This is a crime against God. The sole power to create and destroy life lies within God. Being humans, when we can’t create it… we don’t have the right to destroy it as well.

People blinded by traditionally redundant ideas of parenting male heir do not mind killing their unborn child (girl) for the fear of giving huge amounts of dowry at the time of the marriage. The unscrupulous murder of female foetus has no grounds for justification. It is too painful to imagine the lifeless bodies of so many children, who have done nothing wrong. If they would have been alive, they could have accomplished great endeavours in the latter part of their lives. But Alas! They are no more. They had fallen prey in the cold clutches of inhumanity, hatred and war.

But still it isn’t too late. Let’s fight against this inhumanity. Let’s set fire to all the ill feelings and ill thoughts rather than holding candles and expressing sorrow. Right to education, health and empowerment are the fundamental rights of every child. There should be necessary steps to curb these incidents and one should be surely punished if found guilty for this. Therefore we all must work collectively to impart education on gender equality right from the school level.  Let’s strain every nerve to bring back humanity within our hearts. Let’s make our fellow men realize that “Power doesn’t flow from the barrels of guns” but from the “Voice of Conscience”. God is the author of life. We are mortal and indeed we have no right to cause mortality.
